Este proyecto explora la naturaleza material del libro de texto oficial y gratuito en México. Por una tradición de más de 50 años, el Estado mexicano ha producido este libro de educación pública, administrando la transmisión de la memoria histórica y el conocimiento.
A lo largo de cinco décadas, el libro se ha actualizado, inmerso en disputas y confrontaciones entre varios actores de la sociedad. Durante décadas, el sector privado, la Iglesia Católica y los grupos conservadores lucharon por el control de la producción y el contenido de los libros. Actualmente hay más de 200 millones de libros repartidos de forma gratuita en todo el país.
Este proyecto es una revisión del orden industrial que define la naturaleza del libro oficial gratuito. Se basa en la transformación de los libros en piezas mecánicas para construir un mecanismo como metáfora de la maquinaria del sistema educativo público estatal. Un video documental muestra el proceso de producción del libro, identificando las etapas y la fuente del papel 100% reciclado, cuyos orígenes son archivos muertos de secretarías y dependencias del gobierno. El libro es un receptáculo de la burocracia, pero también de la vida social contenida en los archivos destruidos.

This project explores the material nature of formal education books in Mexico. By a tradition of over 50 years, the state has produced this Mexican public instruction book, controlling the transmission of memory and knowledge, in one version of the story.
Historically the book has been updated and immersed in the middle of disputes and confrontations between various actors of society. For decades, the private sector, the Catholic Church, and conservative groups fought over control of the production and the ideological content of the books. Currently, there are more than 200 million books given out for free nationwide.
This project is a revision of the industrial order that defines the nature of the free official book. It is based on the transformation of the books on mechanical parts to build a mechanism as a metaphor of the machinery of the public educational system of the State. Likewise, a video documentary shows the book production process. The video identifies the stages and the source of 100% recycled paper, whose origins are obsolete files from the secretaries and departments of the government. Thus the book is a receptacle of bureaucracy on the one hand, but also of social life contained in the records destroyed.
